Herb Fixler’s interest in photography dates back to childhood. Over the years, the thrill of capturing the uniqueness of everyday life in his images has become the core of his work.
Largely self-taught, Herb now works exclusively with digital photographic and printing equipment. He seeks to engage viewers of his work by bringing them into his photographs and stimulating their curiosity about what he or his subjects were thinking and feeling at the moment of image capture.
Herb's work has been exhibited in each of the past three years at the Manhattan Athletic Club Gallery at 277 Park Avenue and is featured at Gallery 53 on E. 53rd Street in Manhattan. His photography has been exhibited in group shows at the National Arts Club, a juried exhibition at Salon du Ciel, and is included in numerous private collections and corporate installations. His work has earned him membership in Photography and Imaging ("PAI"), of which Herb is a board member, and Profotos.com, each a select group of prestigious photographers.
